Partners in Learning are delighted to be the first NAHT Aspire Accredited Partner!
Since September 2014, Baldwins Hill Primary School and Halsford Park Primary School have utilised the NAHT Aspire Programme. This programme has led to improved pupil outcomes, a more exciting and engaging curriculum, increased staff development opportunities and increased staff morale. As a result of the positive impact across our schools, we were very keen to share the good practice with other schools and therefore jumped at the opportunity to become an NAHT Aspire Accredited Partner.
At the centre of the NAHT Aspire model is the EdisonLearning Five Strand Design™. Developed from international research into the features of highly effective schools the five Strands include Leadership, Pedagogy and Curriculum, Learning Environment, Assessment for Learning and Student and Family Support. This produces an interconnected and holistic model that builds capacity and capability within the school with a clear focus on improving outcomes for learners.
This comprehensive school improvement programme has transformed our two schools and has brought about a more engaging curriculum and developed teaching and learning to be more responsive to learners’ needs.
The Aspire programme fundamentally believes that school improvement can only be effectively achieved through shared and distributed leadership. We now have highly effective leaders at all levels – for example, middle leaders run Achievement Teams, which engage in a solution focussed approach to supporting individual learners, who from time to time, may become off track in an area of their learning.
Partners in Learning Academy Trust is committed to this shared and distributed leadership model and our mission and vision drivers include “Providing leadership and practitioner development experiences across our schools – grow talent from within” and to “reward excellent performance with opportunities for leadership and advancement.”
The NAHT school improvement programme NAHT Aspire recently launched its new Accredited Partner programme, which enables organisations, following successful training and accreditation, to deliver the Aspire programme and its related components in an area to a school or group of schools.
Being an accredited delivery partner allows for a more local and bespoke offer, which also aims to bring about more cost effective access to this programme and its components.
