Our Leadership Team

Glenn Livingstone – Executive Principal

Glenn’s first senior leadership role started in 2000, in Newham London, before relocating to Brighton & Hove in 2002.  He became a Headteacher in 2006 and was appointed as the Executive Principal of the newly formed Grenestede Academy Trust in 2014.

Glenn is passionate about ensuring the best possible opportunities for the children in our schools.  He believes the key to this is through the provision of  high quality professional development for staff.   He is very proud that during his career,  several of his middle leaders have gone on to become successful headteachers, or senior leaders.

Partners in Learning Academy Trust is committed to working with other organisations as part of our vision and this is reflected in opportunities for Glenn to work as an Associate Achievement Adviser with Edison Learning since April 2018.  In addition, he supported the Pavilion and Downs Teaching School Alliance in their successful bid for funding to support 16 schools.  Both of these projects have involved working with schools in the local area and beyond to provide support and development opportunities for several staff within the Trust’s schools.

Jill Abbott – Trust Business Manager

Jill has been the academy Trust Business Manager since January 2017 and has extensive experience of business and facilities management in schools in the maintained and academy sectors.  She previously worked as a Hub Business Manager for two secondary schools and two primary schools within a large Academy Trust and was actively involved in the academy conversion processes.  Jill has been in the educational sector since 1995 and is passionate about the school environment and ensuring children have the best possible learning experience.

Sarah Martin – Headteacher (Baldwins Hill)

Sarah joined Baldwins Hill Primary at the point when the schools converted to a multi-academy trust in September 2014. Prior to this, she had a teaching career in Brighton & Hove where she gained a wealth of knowledge both within the classroom and as a leader in various leadership roles, including Lead ICT teacher.  She was also responsible for driving an innovative Leading Edge project with one primary school and two secondary schools.  Sarah is committed to providing a rich and inclusive education for all children, where our Core Values underpin the ethos and values of the school.

Claire Spencer – Headteacher (Halsford Park)

Claire was appointed as Headteacher of Halsford Park Primary School in September 2017, previously working as a Deputy Headteacher in East Sussex for nine years.  Amongst many aspects of primary education, Claire is passionate about the importance of providing an irresistible curriculum to achieve successful outcomes for all pupils.  She firmly believes this provides children with life long skills to fully prepare them for future success.
